A committee killed a bill that was proposed in order to protect the rights of land owners against pipeline companies after the immense drama that unfolded all last year concerning eminent domain, carbon capture pipelines and property rights. While this is disappointing, we hope legislators will continue to fight with South Dakotans in order to protect what is rightfully theirs, including the right to say, “No.”
